KAZA UniVisa is a special Visa that allows entry into both Zimbabwe and Zambia and is perfect for visitors wishing to visit the Victoria Falls, this type of Visa is valid for 30 days and you can frequently visit these two countries as you wish. The Term KAZA comes from the Kavango – Zambezi Trans-Frontier Conservation Area which extends across the countries of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, and Namibia.
What is the KAZA UNIVISA?
KAZA Visa has been established for the purpose of multi-country travel within its stunningly beautiful region.
How Much is a KAZA UniVisa?
The standard fee of The Univisa is US$ 50.
Note that credit card point of sale facilities are not available at port of entry, it is recommended that clients have cash.
Can I get KAZA UniVisa Online?
Visitors to Zambia can get the Visa via online website – Zambia e-Visa https://eservices.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm/#/home
There is a small surcharge charged for online purchase. After a successful purchase an
approval letter will be issued for visitors to present to immigration official on arrival.
Visitors to Zimbabwe – can use the Zimbabwe official portal (Zimbabwe e-Visa –
https://eservices.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm/#/home) to pre-apply and make the
payment online.
Note: if you get the online KAZA Visa from the Zambian e-visa website, your first port of
entry will have to be a Zambian one. If you get the Visa on the Zimbabwean e-visa
website, then your first port of entry must be one of the Zimbabwe entry points.
How Long is the UniVisa Valid?
The KAZA UNIVASA is valid for 30 days as long as you remain in Zimbabwe or Zambia
and you can across into Zimbabwe/Zambia as frequently as you wish within the 30 day
period. If the UNIVSA is obtained at Victoria Falls and you cross over to Zambia at
Kariba or Chirundu or Vice Versa the Visa would be valid.
Can I extend my KAZA UniVisa?
The UNIVSA is not extendable. However, you can buy a new UNIVISA (up to 3 per
year). You do not have to buy a UniVisa, you can purchase normal single and double
entry Visas if they suit your needs better.
Countries That Qualify for a KAZA Univisa?
Countries eligible for KAZA Univisa are as follows
Note: after paying for a UniVisa at port of entry on payment of US$50 and are to
present a printed approval letter at the immigration.
Important Notes
- Countries on the above list marked (*) no longer require a visa to enter Zambia and this has been so since 2022
- If you are one of those countries (*) and are only visiting Zambia, then you do not need to get the KazaVisa or a normal Visa.
- If you are flying into Zambia first, and then visiting Zimbabwe, you will not be able to purchase the KAZA UNIVISA in Zambia for your entry into Zimbabwe. You will have to buy your Zimbabwe Visa when you enter Zimbabwe.
- If you are flying into Zimbabwe first and then visiting Zambia, in theory you cannot get a KazaVisa but you can request one, if you are British or Canadian and it works out cheaper for you.
- If you are entering Zimbabwe 3 times that is going to Zambia and Botswana and back to Zimbabwe, then you can ask for a KazaVisa. However, there are no guarantees that you will be granted one.
Which ports of entry can I get and use a KAZA UniVisa?
The UNIVISA can be obtained and used for entry only at the follows Ports of Entry in
Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Visas & Travel Documents
Please keep the following documents with you when visiting Zimbabwe and Zamia on a KAZA UniVisa, you should keep the following documents with you during your travel
- Airline Tickets and/ or any e-ticket references for your commercial flight, most airlines do not require reconfirmation but you still need to check for schedule changes 72 hours prior to your flight
- A certified color photocopy of your passport and other important documents for use in case of lost or stolen originals (kept separately from the originals)
- Valid passport with at least 6 months validity and six empty pages
Citizens of certain countries are not required to obtain visas well in advance of travel for Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana. Please note that certain visas can take up to 3 months to be processed, so it is recommended to consider this when booking and note that is your responsibility to check before final confirmation.

Fees for visitors to Zambia and Zimbabwe who are eligible to receive their Visa on entry
Zambia: US$ 50 for single entry/US$ 80 for double entry
Zimbabwe: for visitors from Europe and USA: US$ 30 for single entry/US$ 45 for
double entry.
Visitors from UK & Ireland: US$ 55 for single entry/double entry to be obtained from
local embassy prior to travel.
Note: Ensure that you buy the correct Visa for your itinerary at the first point of entry
and plan in advance for multiple-entry visa if required as these are not always
available at the port of entry.
